Candidates should be totally aware with the syllabus of the NET exam before appearing for the exam. As mentioned earlier that the examination will consist of 2 papers, UGC NET Paper 1 will be a common paper while Paper 2 will be subject based.

UGC NET Syllabus Paper 1: This paper is designed to test the candidate’s teaching and research ability.
UGC NET Paper 2 Syllabus: Paper 2 will be subject based. Candidates will have to select one subject for NET Exam preferably the subject of their post-graduation.
No. of Questions: Total 150 questions will be asked in NET (Paper 1: 50 Question and Paper 2: 100 Questions). All questions are compulsory to attempt.
Subjects: Paper I will consist General Aptitude Questions and Paper 2 will have questions related to the subject selected by candidates.
The medium of Paper: Hindi and English are the only options to attempt UGC NET. The choice for the paper medium can be exercised at the time of filling the form.
Negative Marking: NTA will not be not following negative marking scheme in UGC NET.
